Myself and friends regularly climbed and played on the Breck. Most us climbed the Granny Rock in as many ways as we could find. Some of us fell off! I managed to break both wrists one evening and that led to a couple of the most embarrassing weeks of my youth! <br />I was on the Breck one evening during the war and watched an aircraftf;ying very low coming towards the Breck across the Mersey estuary. It rose up at the last moment and I briefly saw the head and face of the bomb-aimer in the nose of the aircraft. It was an eerie experience seeing the face of the enemy, even so briefly in a place where we all played regularly!
